The Borough of Lewisburg is requesting proposals for the purchase of professional services associated with a Shared Use Path, Floodplain Restoration and Nature Play Area Project along Bull Run/Limestone Run in the Borough of Lewisburg, Union County, Pennsylvania.  These services include all necessary design and specifications for the bidding of and contracting for the project.  Complete proposal details, including the required proposal format may be obtained by contacting William Lowthert, Lewisburg Borough Manager at wlowthert@lewisburgborough.org.

2018 Street Improvement Project/Phase II

At their September meeting, Council awarded the 2018 Street Improvement Project/Phase II to Dave Gutelius Excavating, Inc. Gutelius Excavating will be undertaking improvements on: South Third Street between Market Street and St. Louis Street; Cherry Alley between North Seventh Street and Linn Alley; South Sixth Street at James Alley; South Eighth Street between St. Louis and St. Catharine Street; St. Catharine Street from just west of South Eighth Street to South Seventh Street, and a small portion of Hawn Alley.  Improvements will also be undertaken at the Borough Office parking lot. Be sure to watch for closed roadways and areas posted no parking. Gutelius Excavating anticipates beginning handicap ramp/curb cut work on South Third Street and South Sixth Street later this week (weather permitting).

We expect the project to be completed by the end of November 2018.

Trick or Treating

Halloween is this month. And on Wednesday, October 31st trick or treating can occur in the Borough between the hours of 6 PM and 9 PM.

Brush Pile to Reopen September 15th

As you know the Borough’s brush pile was closed on Wednesday due to the recent weather conditions and flooding in the area of Wolfe Field.

We are pleased to inform you the brush pile will be open Saturday, September 15th from 8 AM until 12 Noon.  Please use caution around the brush pile as areas of flood water still remain.

Fall Tree Trimming Pick-Up Schedule

The Borough will be conducting its curbside collection of tree trimmings the week of Monday, October 15th through Friday, October 19th. This is a one-time event that follows the normal street maintenance schedule.

Tree trimmings should be bundled, be no larger than 2″ in diameter and 4′ in length. All other tree trimmings can be taken to the brush pile located behind the Wolf Field Complex (off of St. Anthony Street) during the normal hours of operation – Wednesdays from 8 AM to 4 PM and Saturdays 8 AM to Noon.
